Our main turtle enclosure is located directly on the water, so we moved all of our turtles to hurricane tanks during the duration of the storm. It was a good thing we moved everybody. Even though we did not get the storm surge and the flooding associated with that, we still got a lot of wind damage. Our enclosures are covered with shade cloth to help protect the tanks from debris and the turtles from sun damage. Most of the shade cloth (1000 pounds), support cables, utility sheds, electrical boxes, and the plumbing for the turtle tanks were damaged due to the storm.
